Willow Park Renovation Updates

The Northfield Park District was recently awarded an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to help fund improvements to Willow Park. This grant of $405,300 will fund 50% of the proposed project that includes trail extensions, an additional bridge crossing, a river overlook, bird habitats, interpretive gardens, a wooden split-rail fence, landscape enhancements, a picnic shelter, disc golf, a gaga ball pit, batting cage improvements, and replacement of outdoor fitness stations. The project is tentatively scheduled to start in the spring of 2025.
